Strengthening and Restoring Your Smile
You and your family deserve to have healthy smiles. From small cavities to broken or missing teeth, your dental needs are just as unique as you are, and your treatment should be as well. Dr. Tangeman believes in practicing conservative, quality dentistry that helps preserve as much of your natural tooth as possible. In most cases, we will provide our patients with as many options as possible, allowing both you and Dr. Tangeman to decide on what treatment approaches are best for your needs. We provide the following restorative dentistry services:
Tooth-colored fillings blend in with your smile and keep tooth preparation to a minimum. Our office practices treatment that is primarily metal-free, but we can still provide amalgam fillings when necessary.
Also called “three-quarter crowns,” dental inlays and onlays help restore stability to teeth that are too compromised for a filling, but don’t quite need a full-coverage crown. An inlay or onlay repairs the large area of tooth damage, while also preserving otherwise healthy enamel surrounding the area.
Porcelain crowns protect teeth that have fractured, received root canal therapy, or were damaged by large areas of decay. A crown covers the entire surface of the tooth above the gumlines, and is carefully shaded to match the teeth adjacent to it. Most of our crowns are porcelain or porcelain fused to metal.
Bridges are a traditional treatment used to replace one or two missing teeth when there are healthy teeth adjacent to the open area. Similar to the way crowns are made, a bridge features a crown on each end, with pontic crowns between them, spanning the width of the area of the teeth you wish to replace. They can be used in almost any area of the mouth, depending on the health of the supporting teeth.
Another tooth replacement option is a removable partial denture. A partial is an appliance that is worn and stays in place by clasping onto your existing teeth, with false teeth mounted in the necessary areas. Partials are useful when there are several missing teeth, or when other treatments are not an option.
We provide in-house denture treatment and also team up with a private dental laboratory to create customized, comfortable denture prostheses to our patients that need to replace all of their teeth at one time.
Dental implants are one of the most unique and sound ways to replace missing teeth, no matter how many there are. In addition to working with a Periodontist to have patient’s dental implant needs provided for, Dr. Tangeman also performs implant restoration services.
Endodontic treatment (root canals) removes damaged or infected nerve tissue from a tooth and keeps the infection from spreading to other areas throughout the mouth, in addition to allowing the tooth to remain functional. Many offices refer their patients to an endodontist for root canal therapy, but we provide affordable root canal treatments here in our practice.
Extraction services are completed right here in our office. No matter if it is a wisdom tooth or a simple extraction, Dr. Tangeman’s patients can have all of their surgical extraction needs addressed here in our family dental practice. They can expect comfortable treatment in a familiar environment.
