Dr. Marco Garcia
Dr. Marco Garcia is a graduate of the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
He grew up in Southern California but made Bakersfield his home shortly after completing dental school. In his spare time, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and 1-year-old daughter.
As a dental professional, Dr. Garcia enjoys educating his patients on the importance of preventative care and keeping his patients at ease during treatment. He finds joy in helping patients in their journey to better oral health.
He is actively affiliated with the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Kern Dental Society, a Fellow Candidate of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), and a graduate of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) Maxicourse.
Dr. Scott Tangeman
A graduate of the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, Dr. Tangeman loves practicing dentistry.
He truly enjoys getting to know his patients and the relationships he has built with them. Helping them discover renewed well-being and watching their attitudes change as they move from a state of decay and poor aesthetics to one of health and beauty is one of the most gratifying parts of his work.
Dr. Tangeman is also passionate about education and has received advanced, postgraduate training from the world-renowned L.D. Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida.

To Our Valued Patients, Friends, and Family,
I hope this letter finds you well. It has been a true honor to care for you and your family throughout my years in practice. The trust you’ve placed in me has been both humbling and deeply appreciated.
As with all good things, there comes a time when we must transition to new chapters. After much reflection, I have made the decision to step back from my practice. With this in mind, I’m pleased to share that I’ve selected a dedicated dentist who I trust to take over the care of my patients—Dr. Marco Garcia.
Dentistry has given me the privilege of knowing many of you for multiple generations, and you’ve truly become like family to me. When I began thinking about retirement, it was important to me that I step away while still providing excellent care to you all. I’m confident that Dr. Garcia is the right person to continue this legacy of high-quality dentistry.
I first met Dr. Garcia through his wife, Jesica, who worked at my office several years ago before pursuing dental school. They both graduated from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and after practicing in Southern California, they settled in Bakersfield. They are now parents to an energetic one-year-old daughter.
Initially, Dr. Garcia and I discussed him joining the practice as an associate, but as his personal and professional commitments evolved, he was able to take on the role of leading the practice. Dr. Garcia is committed to providing the finest care and brings a wealth of experience in general dentistry as well as specialized services such as root canals, oral surgery, dentures, pediatric dentistry, Invisalign, and implant restorations.
Rest assured, the office will continue to run smoothly, with minimal changes. Dr. Garcia is eager to meet each of you at your next appointment and continue the tradition of excellent care you’ve come to expect from our practice.
